Taryn Barker - Salvation Army Cyclist

The 947 Cycle Challenge has become a great opportunity for cyclists to cycle for a purpose, either for personal triumphs or for raising awareness and funds for charities. For the third year in a row I will be raising funds for The Salvation Army, an organisation for "the advancement of the Christian religion... of education, the relief of poverty, and other charitable objects beneficial to society or the community of mankind as a whole."

The funds will be raised for The Salvation Army Ethembeni Children’s Home, situated in Doornfontein, Johannesburg. This is home for up to 60 children aged from birth to three years, all of whom have suffered emotional, physical or medical abuse or have been abandoned. This
special place provides mental and emotional stimulation, love and care
for these children, and works towards their adoption or fostering into a
loving family environment. For more information click either WORK WITH CHILDREN or ETHEMBENI HOME

Please help by riding for, or donating to this worthy cause. I'm aiming to complete two loops of the race, so you're welcome to donate now, and then if I do finish the two loops you can double your donation on the day #justANidea
