The Giving Organisation Trust is an independent trust and a registered Public Benefit Organisation.

It is owned and managedby its beneficiaries, audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers and is honoured to have Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutuas Patron.

At an historic event on 8th July, 2011, Archbishop Tutu bestowed upon Her Serene Highness, the Princess ofMonaco – Charlene, the co-patronage of The Giving Organisation.

In a unique partnership, ten of South Africa’s well-known charities have combined their brand power to work togetherthrough The Giving Organisation trust to create sustainable sources of income for their work.

They believe that financial security is most effectively achieved by utilising business principles, while remaining focused on the vision and mission to which each charity subscribes.

A representative from each charity participates as a trustee of The Giving Organisation and together they actively seek innovative ways to encourage public support.

All funds received are paid directly into a trust account, and are distributed equally to the ten charities.

The charities are representative of areas of need in our society and each has a proven record of accountability that has earned publictrust and respect.
