WHO ARE WE - OUR PURPOSE
Samaritan’s Feet is a non-profit organization aimed at giving each child in the world the option to put a pair of shoes on their feet. Be it ice cold, blistering heat, thorns, rocks or rain, each child should wake up and have the choice to a pair of shoes protecting their feet. Founded in 2003 by Nigerian born Emmanuel Ohonme and his wife Tracie for the purpose of sharing hope with those in need by washing their feet, giving them a new pair of shoes, and helping them to believe that dreams can come true.
Samaritan’s Feet is a growing movement of more than 70 000 people across the world, willing to humble themselves as servants, so that others might know the opportunity of a better life.

Count2Zero & NoChoice Campaign
There are more than 300 million children that have never owned a pair of shoes and millions more without access to proper foot care. Each day they face the dangers of lacerations, fungus and insect bites that lead to infection, disease, amputation and death. It is the goal of Samaritan’s Feet to see that in the next 10 years, 10 million or more of these children are protected from these dangers by a new pair of shoes.

A GROWING LEGACY - OUR HISTORY
The legacy of Samaritan’s Feet began when an aid worker in Lagos, Nigeria gave a pair of athletic shoes to a 9 year old named Emmanuel. Those shoes became a symbol of hope to “Manny”, and a catalyst to his love for basketball. Over time his dreams became reality and Manny earned a scholarship to play basketball in the United States. He graduated college. He got a job. He lived to the fullest. However, he never forgot the children of his homeland or that one “Good Samaritan,” that gave him hope with one pair of shoes.
Now Manny has a new dream. To date, more than 2 million pairs of shoes have been collected by Samaritan’s Feet and more than 1 million pairs have been distributed to needy children throughout the world and in the U.S. As the numbers grow, so does the passion to see more young people receive this message of hope and the inspiration to see their dreams become reality.

The people of Samaritan’s Feet believe that shoes are so much more than status symbols and fashion accessories. A new pair of shoes can be a symbol of hope to a person in need. Shoes of Hope distributions are designed to both meet physical needs and inspire young people to believe in the value of opportunity, hard work and the service to others. These distributions are the outpouring of the Samaritan’s Feet dedication to changing lives forever.
Collaboration and Comprehensive Care
Samaritan’s Feet partners with local governments, corporations and religious organisations to take shoes directly to places of the greatest need. It is a mission of comprehensive care for underprivileged children.
