MOZAMBIKES is a social venture in Mozambique since 2009 seeking to improve the lives of rural Mozambicans living below the poverty line, by providing access to bicycles to improve their quality of life. These bicycles provide them with affordable, quality bicycles in order to access healthcare, clean water, schools and other means of income generation. The business is a social venture, seeking to scale the social mission of the company, which is to alleviate poverty through efficient transportation.

MOZAMBIKES has distributed approximately 70,000 bicycles throughout Mozambique and implemented numerous training workshops for bicycle technician and entrepreneurship training that is coupled with coaching and mentoring. MOZAMBIKES also provides training programs to build independent “certified” technicians and support them to open their own bicycle related businesses, as well as road safety campaigns, riding clinics and other activities to develop capacities.
