Mission: IkamvaYouth’s mission is to enable disadvantaged youth to pull themselves and each other out of poverty and into tertiary education and/or employment.
The educational challenges we face in South Africa are huge. Of the 1.3 million learners that start school each year, less than 50% will ever reach matric; less than 40% will pass and around 13% will qualify to study at university.
IkamvaYouth achieves its mission through the following programmes:·
These, together with a two-week Winter School programme, make up a comprehensive model that provides learners with the information and support they need to succeed.
IkamvaYouth matric results have consistently far exceeded national averages annually since 2005. This is particularly significant given that learners attend poor-performing township schools.
IkamvaYouth currently operates 17 branches in 5 Provinces across South Africa.
