Eco Children subscribe to a whole-school development programme and aim to have a sustainable impact in the communities where we operate. Once we have identified a school to work with, we work from the bottom up – creating a foundation of trust with the school leadership, and then building on this foundation by helping to improve infrastructure and education at the school. The pinnacle of our programme is the bursary programme, where we identify talented learners at our schools and help them gain access to further education in order to come back to their communities and help break the cycle of poverty.
How we work:
Step 1: Identifying and partnering with primary schools with competent leadership
Step 2: Stimulating the desire to learn through nature based lessons
Step 3: Turning dysfunctional schools into spaces that are conducive to learning
Step 4: Building the capacity of educators and improving the quality of teaching
Step 5: Identifying talented learners and providing them with opportunities they normally would not have access to
