The Children's Hospital Trust was established in 1994 to fundraise for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital – the largest stand-alone tertiary hospital in sub-Saharan Africa, dedicated entirely to children. The Trust is an independent, non-profit organisation that relies on the benevolence of donors to realise its aims.
In 2011 the Trust expanded its fundraising reach beyond the Hospital’s doors to impact more broadly on the quality of healthcare provided to children at other levels of the health services. Child health service providers can apply to the Trust for funding consideration.
The Trust is funded from an endowment, ensuring that 100% of all donations received are used towards the projects and programmes we fund. Not a cent is used for administration or operational expenses.
We believe that every day spent in hospital – is a day less of childhood. The Children’s Hospital Trust is compelled by our commitment to get children back home where they belong.
