Children who love to read, excel at school and go on to become constructive members of society. It all starts with reading.

READ to RISE is a non-profit organisation that promotes youth literacy in under-resourced communities in South Africa. We visit classes to inspire children to read and give them access to new story books. Many children have never owned a book before.

We want to give each Grade 2 learner in Mitchells Plain their very own OAKY book, as many children have never owned a book before. We believe that book ownership is essential in igniting a love for reading.

We don't just drop off the books, rather we visit each class with adult volunteers and have an interactive session with the learners.

Sponsor a book for a child for only R50 and make a difference in a child's life.
