Sea Rescue is working with various organisations to improve safety at our beaches as well as on our rivers and dams.
Our aim is to place emergency flotation in the form of the bright Pink Rescue Buoys on sign boards with emergency information at selected swimming places. The Pink Rescue Buoy sign explains how to use the emergency flotation by throwing it to a person in difficulty and not to go into the water to attempt a rescue themselves. Rather to call for help using the number on the sign.
We encourage everyone to swim only where and when lifeguards are on duty. If there is someone in difficulty in the water, and there are no lifeguards, throw a buoy to them as a flotation and call for help.
The cost of the Pink Rescue Buoy is R1500.
We need your help to fund this project.
Every rand counts and every R50 will help us to get more Pink Rescue Buoys out where they are needed.
Together we can save lives.
