Two friends, two bikes, 6400 kilometers, one goal - to help young people across Africa live a richer, fuller life. Click here to go to the Cape2Kigali trip site

The Cape 2 Kigali Trek will see old friends Andrew Vaughan and Andy Harrington pound out some long, beautiful and stretching kilometers north along Africa’s Great Rift Valley on a route through nine countries connecting Cape Town and Kigali, the home cities for our two organisations - the Wellspring Foundation and the Youth Hub.

Andrew will be using this trip to build support for the WordSpace project. The WordSpace is currently reaching over 8000 young people each day. Our goal is to establish new regional WordSpace projects in the countries along our route to provide new groups of young people with high quality, relevant, Biblical content written by trained writers from their unique contexts.

Our fundraising goal for this adventure is R100 000 ($CAD10000, £5500). These funds will go directly towards:

1) recruiting, training and supporting local writers to help them communicate the Biblical story in innovative and relevant ways
2) developing our social media messaging platform to enable delivery of that content in ways that will help young people engage with the Bible in digital and community spaces
3) conducting research to improve our understanding of the digital neighbourhood in which young people live, in order to help youth leaders navigate this new territory in their work
