It’s hard work for the Cape of Good Hope SPCA's Animal Care Centre, who takes care of +- 300 dogs and cats every single day.

The dedication of the team caring for animals is unquestionable. Working every single day, including days like Christmas Day, this team ensures the comfort and wellbeing of every animal awaiting a home. With a qualified animal behaviourist on site, emotional wounds are also addressed to ensure that each animal has the best possible chance at a happily ever after. The Cape of Good Hope SPCA has an unique adoption process which matches families to a pet by taking lifestyles, ages of children and other pets into account. This helps to ensure the best possible success of every adoption candidate and ensures that pet adoption is a positive experience for the entire family.

Also understanding the heartache that a missing pet can bring a family, their lost and found team work tirelessly to reunite the many stray animals admitted with their rightful owners. It’s a job that requires great super sleuthing skills and this year the SPCA was able to make 642 families whole again by sending so many missing pets back home.

With so many animals in need of caring, grooming, training, walking, feeding and human companionship, The Cape of Good Hope SPCA would never be able to cope without the support of people like you.

Well done to the cyclist who is inspired to make a difference in the lives of animals by riding the FNB W2W switchback 4 strays.
