Lunchbox Theatre's educational shows for the youth and local schools.

LUNCHBOX THEATRE’S primary focus is that of educational theatre. By using our innovative and original style of performance and workshops we have a far-reaching impact and have proven to be very successful at conveying current social and environmental issues.

The Last Drop: The highly informative and interactive show teaches the learners the importance of water as a valuable resource and offers practical guidelines about how to save water at home and at school. The Whale Show: Focusing on whales, this high energy physical theatre show explores the comparisons between whales and humans and lets us in on some of deep secrets of these mysterious creatures. The Tree Show: The Tree Show and workshop program celebrates indigenous trees as a vital part of our existence. This fun and interactive show uses song, dance and drama to engage the audience in a lively and interactive storytelling experience. We
look at current threats that trees face in the light of unsustainable development and conclude that we, as custodians of the planet, should work together with nature instead of against her. A Dog's Life: This highly entertaining, interactive and informative show looks at the issues of basic domestic animal welfare and primary health care through the eyes of a
young child. The show looks at the development of these relationships and compares the various attitudes towards domestic animal welfare. With songs, actions, nteresting characters and a life like puppet of a dog, this show has proven to be a hit with all who see it. Thand’ Impilo: Written and directed by the award winning Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi this show uses mixed medium to convey a very strong message. Aimed at high school children and adults this show encourages people to get tested for HIV / AIDS and promotes a healthy and safe lifestyle regardless of your status. What a Waste: A trash monster is born out of the neglect of people. It harasses the community until they realize that trash has value and that recycling and a clean environment are of great importance. The Great Eden to Addo Adventure: Created under commission from The Eden to Addo Corridor Initiative this show uses the innovative Lunchbox Theatre style of theatre to highlight biodiversity and the need for humans, plants and animals to live in harmony.
After School Activities Programme (ASAP) for local schools

Lunchbox Theatre’s ASAP kicked off 2013. Through this program we are able to give
children the opportunity to grow as individual, learn new skills, and develop life
skills through our dance and drama classes.
We work with over 100 learners per week empowering them through performance art
These workshops provide employment to 6 local facilitators and program managers.
