iKhaya le Themba supports our children and families in 5 distinct ways: Physically, Educationally, Spiritually, Emotionally and Socially.

The monthly budget is R150,000 to holistically support 120 children and their families through our After-School Care and Community Development Programmes.

Your generosity helps us provide essential elements of nurturing care and a safe place where children not only survive but thrive. Our mission is that every child will have hope and a future by addressing widespread poverty, inequality and inadequate services which are drivers of malnutrition and prevent a child from thriving in education. We facilitate nurturing and caring relationships along with hot meals and a snack for each child daily which includes holistic support and education assistance, a safe and creative environment for a child to develop and reach their full potential. Schooling outcomes remain poor despite high attendance and inequalities are deeply entrenched before young children enter formal programs. Learning to read is especially a priority for every child in Imizamo Yethu and into the rest of South Africa.
