About Amahlongwa

We have been blessed with land in the rural community of Amahlongwa on the south coast of Durban, South Africa. This will be a safe space where people with disabilities will be included, equipped and empowered through our various programmes (www.madeformore.org.za). The building will also create sustainability and employment opportunities for community members and more specifically, people with disabilities.

The building will be done in phases;

Phase 1: Information Center, Coffee Shop, Security & Staff Housing and Sustainable Farming Initiative

Phase 2: Inclusive Student Housing

Phase 3: Multipurpose Sports Hall, Training Center, Offices and Church

This space will be state of the art and the first of its kind to be designed inclusively and specifically for disability sport, trainings, counselling, leadership camps and employment opportunities. Help us to create a space that will break stigma, restore hope and raise the next generation of passionate and purpose filled leaders in our country.

Current Needs

In faith, we broke ground in July 2021 and started building. We are now installing the roof of phase 1’s security and staff accommodation.

This Giving Tuesday, we are hoping to raise $4000 to cover the costs of building materials needed to secure phase 1 so that we can install water and electricity in the new year.

 We need the following building materials :

- Windows
- Doors
- Toilets
- Sinks
- Showers
- Lights
- Switches and plugs

This donation will be tax deductible as we are a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) that is able to provide you with a tax 18A certificate. Thank you for your consideration in helping us create a space that will break stigma, restore hope and raise the next generation of passionate and purpose filled leaders in our country.
