The environmental integrity of earth is faced with a growing number of threats, not least from climate change and unfettered development. Those fighting back are local and indigenous communities who are culturally connected to the natural world and who rely almost solely on what it provides. But it is these communities that are being threatened by the corporations and governments that seek profits over sustainability. Their knowledge and resources are exploited, their livelihoods and land destroyed, and their dignity affected.
It is becoming clearer that the key to conservation is through the actions of these same communities. But they cannot do it alone.
This is a time for even greater action. We need to have louder voices, more entrenched arguments, and stronger community solidarity if we are going to overcome these threats.
The Natural Justice team stands with these communities. We offer support through our research, legal empowerment tools, litigation support and advocacy. Over time we have made many strides, but we have a long way to go to reinforce community resilience and resolve. We remain inspired, however, by the actions of our supporters, as well as the strength of the communities we work beside.
We invite you to stand in solidarity by contributing to the work of Natural Justice. By supporting us, you are showing your commitment to our collective future.
