In celebration of Day of Reconciliation 2018, join the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation by contributing towards the events that encourage critical thinking and active citizenry by donating funds no matter how little they are. Day of Reconciliation is a holiday that came into effect in 1994 after apartheid with the intention of fostering reconciliation and national unity for the country. This is the day where we remember the need for racial harmony. The celebration of the Day of Reconciliation can take the form of remembering past history, recognizing veteran's contributions, marching and other festivities.

This creates a space for all people of different cultures and race to form a unified front in order to address the issues that societies face today to create inclusive and fair societies that we all want to live in.

The IJR has teamed up with young people in the programme to bring you a video on how they benefited from one of  the programmes that allowed them to have a conversation on reconciliation, identity and gender. You can also be a part of this conversation and the institution by donating or sharing our call with family and friends. The funds donated will go towards the continuation of the IJR programmes that encourage people to share perspective on the current situations faced by everyone within the country and to collectively rise beyond that and make a greater South Africa.
