Raithby is a small farming community, situated between the towns of Somerset West and Stellenbosch, just off the R44. Sport, and particularly Rugby is a very important component in the history of this quant enclave. The Forward Foundation, together with the Raithby Primary School and Sports Council, aim to develop an integrated sports development pathway for children.

Various Forward Faster Camps & Clinics will be run in the Western Cape to provide exposure and create opportunites, but to act as a recruitment platform for talented youngsters that cannot be supported by their parents and school. The identified athletes will then form part of a performance program that will help them to reach their full potential on and off the sports field.

The sports development vision for Raithby is a life-long dream for Forward Foundation founder Le Roux Conradie, who permanently lives in the village. His career in sports management and his diverse network of sporting coaches, officials, professional players and support organisations make him an ideal person to lead this vision.

Project Raithby will offer a number of sports development services as well as various other supporting initiatives. The plan is to create a sporting hub in Raithby, where the South African sports champions of the future can start preparing.
