Hectic Promotions is a non-profit company and all funds raised are used to help individuals in need.
We fund a vast array of charity projects. The Winter Woollies project is now in its fourth year and annually funds a group of pensioners who knit beanies and gloves for kids in winter.
Last year saw 2500 items knitted and handed out at schools in and around Pretoria and Cullinan as well as Rustenburg in collaboration with the Royal Bafokeng Nation.
The Green Caps recycling project is also in its fourth year. The project funds a group of 25 informal recyclers and looks after Joseph Ntuli. Ntuli is a full-time employee who makes beautiful sculptures and ornaments from old tyres. The sculpted tyres are used to decorate government clinics and schools in Pretoria, Cullinan and Rustenburg.
The Hectic Promotions wheelchair initiative saw a total of nine wheelchairs donated last year. The project is managed in collaboration with the Crawford School in Pretoria and the Green Caps who collect bottle caps to enable wheelchair donations to the Alma School for the Physically Disabled.
Another beneficiary is the Katjiepiering pre-primary school in Hermanstad. The school has 94 pupils from all population groups and is solely dependent on outside funding because parents can’t afford school fees.
We work with the Metro Food Bank to secure donations of fresh fruit and vegetables for the school and we also have a meat donor. We do upkeep and maintenance at the school so that the environment isn’t depressing for the little ones. Last year we replaced the entire roof of the school.
Hectic Promotions annually donates more than 400 seedling plants to a local church in Centurion. The church uses the funds they generate from sales to provide local old age homes with food.
We also grow plants for the local CHOC House and the Tshwane Metro Clinics, and we are responsible for the upkeep of their gardens. It’s very important to create a beautiful and welcoming environment at these facilities so that patients’ spirits are lifted.
A new project for 2020 is a collaboration with Bikes for Kids, which donates bicycles to children’s homes and deserved individuals who can’t afford bikes.
This falls in line with our cycling development initiative which saw us provide more than 700 free entries to development cyclists last year.
