HCF GAUTENG ANNUAL PROVINCIAL CONFERENCE

Involving Christian Healthcare Workers, Hospital Chaplains, Hospital Administrators, Students of Healthcare Institutions, Hospital Evangelists, etc.

Who are the Organizers?
This conference is organized and hosted by the Provincial Action Team of HCF along with the local branches of HCF in Gauteng Province.

What is the Target Group?
Leaders and Potential Leaders in Healthcare and Christian/Medical groups, Churches and Faith-based organizations within Gauteng Province and beyond who will focus on defining the needs within the health sector from a spiritual or Biblical perspective and then under God’s guidance, formulate interventions to address the issues.

What are the Objectives?
 To raise a united Christian voice in the health services of our country in order to make a constructive contribution to the quality of health services for our nation
 To strengthen Christians and give guidance in health matters, such as ethical issues and sound policy development in health
 To encourage more church involvement in ministering to the sick
 To create leadership and mentorship for students in healthcare
 To focus on the need for Compassionate Spiritual Care of Patients and Staff in healthcare institutions.

Who are the Speakers?
The main plenary speaker will be Dr Eva Seobi, Founder member of Woman Alive International and a member of Doctors for Lifel.  Her addresses will be of a strategic nature, especially geared to leaders, heads of household and family members.

The Plenary Sessions and Commissions will allow for speakers with particular expertise to address subjects flowing from the identified needs in the healthcare environment.  There will be time for delegates to deliberate and discuss the provided strategies and interventions.

What Topics will be included in the Commissions?
 Strengthening links between the church and the health field
 Strategies for mentoring and guiding Christian students in health professions and reaching non Christian students
 Identifying and addressing isues relating to roles and responsibilities of members of Christian families and households

 Improving quality of care
 Supporting and strengthening health workers

Where is the Venue?
The Conference will be held at Pure Joy Guest Lodge.  Peace, tranquility, and natural harmony are the keynotes of this game lodge.  The grounds are spacious with well kept lawns and rose bushes. The roads are paved - and accommodation, conference hall and restaurant are in close proximity to each other, so no transport will be needed within the grounds.

The total cost which includes attendance at the meetings, comfortable accommodation, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and teas for the period from Dinner on 13th November to Breakfast on 15th November 2009  is:
