Bioskoop wishes to maintain an online presence as well as raise funds for future underprivileged students who wish to study drama or filmmaking in South Africa.

The film industry in South Africa is the second-largest growing industry after tourism. With a 49% youth unemployment rate and a 29% total unemployment rate South Africa is in dire need of education programs that create more jobs. (Stats SA)

This is why we decided to counter a tragic situation of joblessness into an opportunity of prosperous educational growth.

Currently, we are busy registering with SARS as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) which will entitle us to 10% Tax-deductible donations (Section 18A receipts). This means that a business or individual can donate up to 10% of their income after deductions to us and provide SARS with our Section 18A receipt. This will obviously increase donations dramatically. 

We have managed to register with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) Free of charge and plan to do so at SARS as well. Generally, lawyers charge you up to R20 000 for this endeavour.

In the meantime, we need funds to start further fundraising that will benefit future students directly.
