Dear Ambassadors and well-wisher,
Thank you for your recent donation to the Banonie Mwale Foundation’s Jenny Naylor Nursery School in Nkhotakota Village, Malawi. Your willingness to help the children in the village has already made a tremendous difference to their futures, and has had a ripple effect across the whole community.
Thanks to you, we have provided 60 children aged between 3 – 6 years with easy access to nursery school education. Your donation helped purchase bricks, concrete, roofing panels and a blackboard for a two-classroom building. We celebrated its official opening on 25thNovember 2017 which was attended by our founding supporters Jenny Naylor and
Sandy Case from UK, and Peggy Tempero and Sean Dalton from US.
We have also commenced construction for a primary school in the village, and land has already been secured for the creation of a girls’ hostel. Longer term, we are planning secondary school classrooms so these children can advance through the education system.
In the immediate future, we are raising further funds for school desks, and the ongoing cost of 3 teacher salaries. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world and most Malawian people live on less than $1 a day. A small gesture will go a long way. $83 will pay 2
teachers’ salaries for a month and a building with 3-6 classrooms can be completed for $21,000.
If you are thinking of what to buy someone as a special Easter present, we’ve come up with a great gift idea which will also make a huge difference to the school. For $50, we will purchase and engrave the name of your recipient on a desk. We will send you a letter confirming the purchase and once the desk has been made, we will send you a
photograph of their engraved name to share with your friends and family. Click
this link to buy this gift http://www.sakaramenta.com/ in any part of the world. For those who would like to play part on our foundation, please feel free to visit our GivenGain account.
We would love to give you a tour of the school if you ever think of coming to visit, so you can meet the teachers and the children.
If you anticipate visiting Malawi next year, please email us on
info@banoniemwalefoundation.org so we can arrange this and suggest nearby accommodation.
We would like to keep you informed of our news so will write again next year.
Again, on behalf of our ambassadors Jenny Naylor, Peggy Tempero, Sean Dalton and others,I’d like to sincerely thank you for all you’ve done to help so far. You are an important part of the lives of these children!
With very best regards,
Banonie Olad Mwale
Founder.
