THE AFRICAN PENGUIN & SEABIRD is a project of the DYER ISLAND CONSERVATION TRUST.
The DICT was founded in 2006 with the aim to positively contribute to the conservation of the natural environment and biodiversity of the marine environment. Our projects are aimed at research and active conservation interventions that will contribute to:
* Ensure the survival of endangered African penguin through the rehabilitation of oiled, injured and abandoned penguins and conservation interventions like providing artificial nests to improve breeding success;
* Protecting the globally important breeding and calving grounds of the Southern Right Whale;
* Conserve, collect data and research the world's densest populations of the vulnerable Great White Shark.
* Environmental Education programs.
