Run SCTM 2017 for MS
Whether you do the Olympic distance of 42.2km or the 10 Walk/Run or even the 4.2 Fun Run, there is a race for everyone!
MSSA Western Cape (Multiple Sclerosis South Africa – Western Cape) have been offered an amazing opportunity to raise funds by invitation to be a benefitting Charity in the upcoming Sanlam Cape Town Marathon.
The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon strives to become South Africa's biggest fundraising platform. To achieve this, they welcome and allocate charities to become part of their event. This is an incredible opportunity for Multiple Sclerosis South Africa to be showcased to all walks of life and to bring awareness to the struggle that many Multiple Sclerosis patients face in their daily lives as well as the obstacles they face in gaining medical and financial support.
What is Multiple Sclerosis?
Multiple sclerosis, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system, interrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.
Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis.
The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.
Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with at least two to three times more women than men being diagnosed with the disease. MS affects more than 2.5 million people worldwide. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is one of the most common diseases of the central nervous system.
So why not run the race for Multiple Sclerosis?

GivenGain has a vault of fundraising ideas.
If you would like advice on fundraising, please email Claudia
Dieckmann (email below).
We would like to raise as much money as possible from this event. Multiple Sclerosis can be a financial drain for many (R1000 only buys 1 month supply of incontinence pads).
So we appeal to all our runners to help in the fight of day to day living with Multiple Sclerosis.
