Racing against seabird extinction

We are Nicky Stander and Romy Klusener, seabird rehabilitators at the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) in South Africa. We have decided to combine our passions for marine conservation and running to raise ZAR 50 000 to help SANCCOB end seabird extinction. Nicky will run the 56km ultra marathon and Romy will run the 21km half marathon – that’s 77km of commitment to a cause we dedicate our lives to each day. We invite you to join our venture.

SANCCOB is renowned for its rescue and rehabilitation of the endangered African penguin species and we are raising our voices and running our races for this iconic bird and the various other seabird species we save.
Where do you fit in? Right here, where we need your financial support to contribute to the feeds, medication and specialised veterinary care provided. Whether it’s R50, R500 or R5 000, every donation will go straight to the funding of the critical work we do. We are counting on our SANCCOB supporters to hit the donate button and contribute to reach our fundraising target. This year SANCCOB celebrates 50 years of saving seabirds so please help us make this an even more memorable year.
