Atlantic Hope is a Place of Safety for abandoned and vulnerable babies. Marilyn, the founder, converted her lounge and dining room into a nursery in order to care for these little ones. They have cared for 75 babies, provided them with everything they need, and ensured that they are healthy, calm and content when they are moved into more permanent care. The positive impact on the babies' long term health and wellbeing, both physical and emotional is huge. They receive all the love and nurturing they need, minimizing trauma and allowing them to create secure bonds and attachments.
I have chosen this charity as it is one of the few organisations that extends concern for human life from the advent. This organisation is the embodiment of hope and empathy, two ideals I hold dearly.
Section 28, Bill of Rights, SA Constitution:
"Every child has the right to family care or parental care, or to appropriate alternative care when removed from the family environment … to basic nutrition, shelter, basic health care services and social services … to be protected from maltreatment, neglect, abuse or degradation…A child’s best interests are of paramount importance in
every matter concerning the child."
Please sponsor me in my quest to change the course of the most
vulnerable groups of individuals in South Africa. Help to save a life!
