The 'UpliftED' Programme

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” NELSON MANDELA

Our efforts are aimed at helping to create a promising future, a good education for all, especially for children in their early years in Johannesburg. Mairi is volunteering with an organisation, Botshabelo, who run the Uplifted programme and because of this we have joined their Purple Peloton, a group of cyclists who are taking part in the event to raise money to ensure funding for the programme. It aims to improve the quality of early education in townships in the north of the city. On Sunday November the 19th we'll be riding to finish the 94.7km ride around Joburg, down through the CBD, across Nelson Mandela bridge and back up past Sandton to the north of the city.
