Clinton and Jonty Rhodes are training for the Sani 2 C. While Jonty is already a seasoned mountain biker, Clinton is coming straight off the couch and starting at a whopping 149kg - something drastic needs to happen to get both brothers over the finish line in the same time as according to the race rules!!
Ian Wilson of Single Track Minded is providing coaching and has developed a specific training programme for Clinton.
As they enjoy riding together the brothers want to share the incredible experience they are having with underprivileged communities who don't have access to the resources we do. They would love your support in raising money to buy mountain bikes for underprivileged communities along the route - you can contribute financially in a couple of ways:-
Support now - A once off payment for Clintons weight lost to date going at R10 per kilo. You can check his progress on facebook: 'Rhodes Bros'
Watch the fun and pay later - A pledge of R10 per kilogram lost from 24th September till the start of the race (17th February - final weigh in!).
Support Jonty as he rides SLOWLY with Clinton - pledge R1 per km for the 250km (249.7 if you are fussy).
NOTE : 100% of money raised will be used to buy bikes — 28 June 2010
We've now darted the fat boy with a tracking device.....thanks to Magni Trak who supplied the device - Whales are Us supplied the darting system :)
Mark Baxter of Magni Track will be following the Rhodes Bros as they ride the legendary Subaru Sani2C from Wednesday to Friday this week.
Starting Wednesday we will be updating all our supporters as we fly down the hills, stagger over obstacles and battle up the mountain paths! Check out Rhodes Bros on Facebook!
