PEACE PARKS - THE GLOBAL SOLUTION
Peace Parks Foundation facilitates the establishment of transfrontier conservation areas (peace parks) and develops human resources, thereby supporting sustainable economic development, the conservation of biodiversity and regional peace and stability.
What is a Peace Park?
Political borders very rarely respect ecological systems, and the Transfrontier Parks strive to re-establish historical animal migration routes and other ecosystem functions disrupted by fences and incompatible legislation. This more natural ecosystem will then also be jointly managed according to harmonised wildlife management policies, promoting the return of a larger and more resilient ecosystem with greater chances of long-term sustainability.
Donate, and become a part of the global solution.
"I know of no political movement, no philosophy, no ideology, which does not agree with the peace parks concept as we see it going into fruition today. It is a concept that can be embraced by all. In a world beset by conflict and division, peace is one of the cornerstones of the future. Peace parks are building blocks in this process, not only in our region, but potentially in the entire world". - Nelson Mandela
