Some history on the Cape Flats YMCA:
Since 2004, the impact of the Cape Flats YMCA on the local community has been significant. In 2008, YMCA Cape Flats was able to reach 65, 929 teenagers, youth and other community members in Mitchell's Plain, Heinz Park, Gugulethu, Samora Machel, Ravensmead, Delft, Manenberg, Modderdam, Saltriver, Hanover Park and Atlantis through a number of initiatives outlined in the ‘Programs’ section.
It is important to note that the current level of participation is 78% higher than in 2004.
Some of the programs the YMCA is responsible for are listed below:
1. Peer Education Program
2. Girl Child
3. Sport development
4. Community development
Where to from today:
We want to take the YMCA to great heights, but we need more exposure. We therefore urge you to assist us in spreading the word about this great organization.
