Won Life is a registered non profit organisation (NPO) working in the community of Fisanterkaal, just outside of Durbanville. We have worked in this community for the past 12 years delivering services in the areas of health and education.
Our organisation believes that the future of our country is largely determined by the quality of education delivered to our youth. With a good education children have the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and carve out a preferred future for themselves and their families.
Won Life's projects are a step towards ensuring improved education in the area. We have seen such a great return on the investment we make in education. As we continue to impact and influence children’s lives we will see the development of responsible, active citizens.
Our biggest focus for 2012 is investigating the possibilities of new educational services. We are passionate about education and the opportunities it presents for children and families. There are many obstacles on the horizon but we are up for the challenge. As Winston Churchill said, “Difficulties mastered are opportunities WON.” Winning is what we are about and there is no stopping us if it means we can build positively into society and change lives through the opportunity of a great education.
In a community where unemployment is rife, HIV & Aids prevalence is much higher than the national average, and where children are particularly vulnerable, only access to a good, holistic education provides a real solution. If we choose not to act now, we will still be treating the symptoms of poverty in the future. We want to see the future of a community moulded through the power of knowledge.
Stay updated with our developments. We hope to identify the gaps in education and fill them. We want to improve the standard of the education being delivered to the future of our country, the children.
