TB/HIV Care Association – working towards a TB and HIV free community
TB/HIV Care closes the gap between communities and TB/HIV health services in South Africa.
TB/HIV Care mobile teams visit shopping malls, farms, taxi ranks or workplaces in customized caravans to offer HIV counselling and testing and screening for TB and STIs. This helps to find people who may not have known they needed to visit a clinic. Once they do reach a clinic and have been seen by a nurse or doctor, they are linked to a TB/HIV Care community care worker who helps them to understand their disease, keep clinic appointments, and adhere to an often complicated treatment regime.
