Thanks to film producer, Leigh Wood - now on Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/39885478 Since this 50/50 was produced, we have located 22 of the 36 springs in the City Bowl - the Peninsula has a whole lot more! If we can affect current policy (only through civic support), the GCTMA could see the methodology of Camissa applied to each of these water systems. Hit the "like" button on our FB page, if you agree that this would alter Cape Town's water & carbon footprint and make us a sustainable city. We need support to alter the mindset that water (or even groundwater / stormwater / mountain run-off / grey water / sewerage; etc) belongs in silos - water is embedded in ALL OF LIFE - it even makes up 72.8% of each of us. In addition, the flux value of water within the various systems of our city has to be recognised, currently research is not affecting policy (not only in South Africa) and the lack of integrated systems approaches being applied at municipal management level is problematic. Systems thinking and integrated resource management is the only approach to sustainability and has to be adopted by government; province and municipalities throughout South Africa (and indeed the world) the save (not only) our ecological systems. Help us make this go viral...
