Kuzuko Foundation

Cause Profile

The Kuzuko project is the brainchild of Dr Kim Tan, a Malaysian entrepreneur based in the UK. It began with him seeing both this magnificent wilderness area between the Winter and Zuurberg Mountains (part of the Greater Addo Elephant National Park) and at the same time its poor economic state. He was inspired to drive this project forward as a  catalyst for further economic and social transformation, as well as  environmental education in the Small Karoo, Eastern Cape, South Africa

Kuzuko now employs over 100 people, of whom 90% come from local communities, and has created around 250 jobs in an area experiencing 70% unemployment. Kuzuko purchases a large quantity of supplies and services from our nearest town, Somerset East, helping to stimulate the development of local businesses and economic growth. Yet there is more that needs to be done!

The Kuzuko Foundation invites you to join us in this journey of transformation.
