We've all seen the massive role that social media can play in raising awareness for a cause.
Today, we're happy to announce a new, better GivenGain Facebook Application that allows both causes and activists to add their GivenGain profiles, projects, or posts as a Facebook Page Tab.
After the muted release of version one of the GivenGain API, we've orginally built a simple proof of concept Facebook application that allowed causes to show off their GivenGain profiles. Being well aware of the limitations of this implementation, and seeing more and more requests from activists for a way to display their projects and progress on Facebook as well, we've been hard at work to bring you a better, easier to use Facebook application. A few things have happened to make this possible, the most notable being the continued development of the API, and the infrastructure that the GivenGain environment exists in.
So, what are the main features of the new GivenGain Facebook Application?
To integrate GivenGain on to your Facebook page, you’ll need the following:
Please note that you can only have one GivenGain App installed per Facebook Page.
Here's how you can add the GivenGain Facebook Application to your Facebook Page:
That's it! You're done. Now click on Home (top right) to see what your Page visitors will see.
We've tried to make it as easy and intuitive as possible to get up and running fast, but - if you're having trouble - don't hesitate to contact support for help. As a side note, we'll be discontinuing the old Facebook application ("GivenGain for Causes") in about a week's time, so make sure you uninstall it from your Page and add the new application.
