It is the task of the Bible Society of South Africa to make the Bible available to all South Africans. With this project the Bible Society want to ensure that even those who cannot afford a Bible are not excluded from the message of the Word of God.
In South Africa there are millions of people who fall in a low income group (some sources indicate that as many as 50% of the South African population are living on or below the breadline).
According to Statistics South-Africa, there are now approximately 14 million unemployed South Africans. Due to the severe recession some 870 000 had lost their jobs in 2009 alone. Add to that other social problems which prevent people from earning enough to support their families; HIV/Aids, crime, alcohol and drugs, and the picture grows considerably darker.
Whatever the reason, it is a fact that many people in our country can only dream of owning their own Bible.
By donating to this project you are helping the Bible Society to make free Bibles available in a responsible manner to those who cannot otherwise afford one.

We are doing missionary work in the rural poverty stricken area Far North South Africa. We request bible donations, food parcels and toys to minister the word of God while showing love at the same time.
Your donations will be highly appreciated. Respond by sending email to smokwena@webmail.co.za.

A young man and his brother are doing the most exciting work in the rural areas of the Eastern Cape. They are an inspiration to us all. They are needing Xhosa bibles to distribute among new believers in the Eastern Cape area. They left from Cape town and did missionary work among people who had not even heard about God. They have been asked to go back and are need to distribute bibles. Please, we pray that you will be able to assist in this regard. Our prayer group has already started by giving him 2 bibles, but he is need of many many more. Thank you for the work that you do, we appreciate it more than you will ever know. We pray that God will always send His blessings over the work that you do and that The Holy Spirit will always guide you. God bless Sharon

I have stated a Sunday school as well as youth services however the parents of these children are mostly unemployed and cannot afford a Bible themselves and it is a challenge to share God’s Word with minimum resources to over 50 children.
I am looking to the ministry growing and your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
