The "What a way to go "project was started by Jan Marjee late 2011. he created this project with the aim to help children that don’t have the means to enjoy a free life because of cancer. Jan Marjee was inspired by Evan MCreggor and Charlie Boorman with their tour around the world for Unicef.
Well it’s my turn. I have decided to get a team together and climbing. Cape Town to Kilimanjaro, up the mountain, back down and home in 88days & 12455 km's. The funds that are raised along the way will be donated to CHOC Children with Cancer.
CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA plays a key role in providing care for children diagnosed with cancer across South Africa. It is a country wide organization that provides the highest level of care required to treat childhood cancer in keeping with the latest developments world-wide. The funds raised by CHOC are provided directly to support the children diagnosed with cancer as well as their families. Furthermore, the Paediatric Oncology Units in major hospitals are supported by funds raised by CHOC to enable the Doctors and Nurses to provide quality treatment to children diagnosed with cancer.
Im looking at starting in MAY THE 8TH 2013 where it will be a little bit cooler to ride. Ill be camping along the way and hoping to find some B&B’s along route to put me up for the night.
Im looking for a few Crazy people out there who would like to be a part of this tour, Im also looking for a Company to get behind us and help raise these funds for CHOC..
