I will be running the Comrades Marathon on 3 June a 90km race from Pietermaritzburg to Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa.
The reason for this is to raise much needed funds for The Zach Foundation which has partnered with CHOC(Childhood Cancer Foundation)to form the first paediatric research based charity in South africa.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated, I know I can reach my goal.

It has been a month since I ran/walked Comrades and I am eager to get back on the road for my next challenge, but need to sort this ankle out :-(
Once again a huge thanks to one and all for your donations - we are making a difference with the fund raising for The Zach Foundation.
As for my next challenge - watch this space. xx

Thanks to Mary's friend Emilie for your donation - it is very kind of you. My page is open so to all of you who said you would donate ONLY if I finished , put your money where your mouth is .....please.
It is such a worthy cause and I am not stopping from creating awareness for TZF - on the 13th June, I go for an interview with the CHOC Foundation to be a volunteer, they only need a few hours a week of your time, so if you feel up to it give them a call.
Have a wonderful week everyone and watch this space - I might just get back on my bicycle and cycle 94.7km in November!!

What a day - with a chilly start, the wind picked up and was blowing really hard, but I made it and did not let myself down or my charity.
I was so happy to get to the stadium, it was so emotional for me and I can honestly say finishing my 13th Comrades in honor of Zach and The Zach Foundation is one of the happiest and best days of my life!
Thank you everyone your support of this charity you are all stars in my world.

Thanks to Non and Sylvia for my latest donations - how I would love to hit R10000.00 before the big day.
Cancer can afflict anyone and we need funds so desperately in South Africa for paediatric cancer research - please make a donation, no matter how small or big, every cent counts and I know that the guys and gals of The Zach Foundation are so appreciative already of the amounts we have raised so far.
Sacrifice a beer or two or a bottle of wine or even a coffee and donate to my cause.
Thanks again to everyone who has donated so far.

DID YOU KNOW -
1. The US Spends 144 times more than South Africa on cancer research.
2. Australia spends 22 times more on research than South Africa and they have half the population we have in SA.
3. In 1998-2000 10 cancer research consortiums were assembled in SA of which only three remain.
The above facts are from stats taken in 2006 - 6-7 years out of date.
Please find it in your hearts to make a donation every cent counts.
Thanks

My target is R30000.00 by the end of June and yes it is ambitious, but come on guys and girls, please donate, if all my Facebook friends made a donation, I would just about be at my target.
The paediatric cancer research is the first of it's kind in SA, and they need funds urgently.
Please...........
18 days to go and the last few weeks of training have been good and my ankle is holding up yay..........

This weekend sees the long club run on Sunday 29th April, of which I am going to run part of. Traditionally all runners doing Comrades run a last long run of +- 60kms, five to six weeks before race day and then we start tapering so we are fresh and ready for the big day.
Have a great Freedom day tomorrow and Worker's Day on Tuesday 1st May - enjoy the long weekend and if out and about be safe.
