Restoration of Hope Ministries is about to commence building a Children’s Village which will be called “Ingane Yami” – meaning “My child” in Zulu. The village will be a place where children who have been abandoned; with little hope of survival will receive holistic care and find a place to belong and thrive in a secure loving family environment. It is not an orphanage or institute but rather a vibrant community, which will consist of 25 individual homes where every child will be placed in a family with a mother and siblings. Each family will consist of no more than 6 children of varying ages to emulate a natural family situation, allowing the children to grow up knowing the value of a healthy functional family.
Plans are well underway for the construction of the village - the land was purchased and paid for in 2008 and earthworks are due to start in March 2010, with construction work following 3 months later. All the capital for the earthworks and services is in place and so the funds that we raise will go towards the completion of phase 1 of the building which will include the first 5 homes.
The project is right on our doorstep so you will have the opportunity to see the work in progress and exactly where you money goes.
This project benefits "Keep Running - Comrades 2010" , a program of Restoration of Hope Ministries.
