The donations are still pouring in and I am so very grateful. Thanks to Jody Ribton for your kind support! Also to my fellow racer and friend Annele, my lovely parents Rosi & Peet. And then, specifically to Amanda who will be my partner in crime (and inevitably, pain) on race day. I would definitely not want to do this withou you. thanks for the long hours on the road together and listening to my incessant chatter. We're going to kick some ass! :)

New donations and so very grateful. Thank you so much to the lovely Adele (the greatest project manager everrrrrr!), and my usual suspect (very supportive) mates, Andre and Deon, for your generous contributions. One week to go before starting to taper before the big event which is but 3 weeks away. Now is the time to show your support.
Much love,
Anita

Running is going well. Avoiding the influx of easter eggs in stores, less so. So I dusted off the old gym membership card and attempted a 15 minutes abs class this afternoon. The repercussions of that will surely be interesting tomorrow.
Coming up this weekend: 25km long run to good ol' faithful Jonkershoek nature reserve. Glorious!

Donations! So many thank yous to my good friends Shaun, SuperJaco and Smufafa for your support, not only the generous financial donations this week (and in the past) but also for patiently listening to me harp on about running the whole time. IN REAL LIFE. Aaak! ;-)

* I got an e-mail from Habitat for Humanity asking for volunteers to build another home in Mfuleni. Something I've really been wanting to do for a while! :)
* I got home, dog-tired and feeling a little lightheaded, but I scraped together the last of my energy, grabbed a banana and dragged my bum outside for a run. And suddenly, the fatigue was gone and the run was lovely. :) :)
* When I checked the site this evening, I found that the very first donation after my own comes from somebody I do not even know. How wonderfully kind people are - heartwarming. Thanks so much Christo! :) :) :)
* And now, I can finally go to bed to catch some zzzz's :) :) :) :)

I realised, after finishing the Cango marathon this past Saturday, that time is running out for reaching my fundraising target of R5600.
As has become part and parcel of preparation for my yearly running goal (this year to finish the Two Oceans 56km ultramarathon), I have chosen to become an online activist for an organisation close to my heart: Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF)/ Doctors Without Borders.
I always find it quite difficult to choose a cause because there is so much need and so many wonderful organisations doing great work and facilitating positive change. However, I chose MSF because, in the process of taking my running to the next level, I've been specifically aware of, and grateful for the basic physical ability to run. It is sad how easily we take our health and health care for granted.
And therefore, in gratitude for my own health and ability to run, I am supporting MSF, an international organisation helping the most vulnerable of people by reducing their physical pain and improving the general health. Have a look at the wonderful work they are doing:

If you should feel moved to donate to this worthy cause, and by doing so support my goal to complete the Two Oceans Ultramarathon, it would be greatly appreciated! Online donations can very easily be made by credit card or instant bank transfer on my GivenGain profile: http://gigaf.org/w2eu9L
As part of my training I am back on the blog so you are more than welcome to follow the ups and downs of the amateur runner that I am: http://gigaf.org/xBQNO9
Right, enough talking. Let's get on with it.
Many thanks and much love,
Anita
